Harry Kane has started the 2026 World Cup exactly how England fans hoped he would, with two goals in the opening 4-2 victory over Croatia.
The brace moved the captain level with Gary Lineker on 10 World Cup goals for England, a record he can claim outright before this tournament is done.
Kane will be focused on driving England deep into the competition and ensuring his Ballon d’Or-level form at club level can continue throughout the tournament.
Away from the squad, though, he found time to enjoy himself — taking in a concert by American country star Ella Langley and leaving her with a thoughtful gift.

Harry Kane gifts England jersey to Ella Langley
Kane caught Langley’s show during a break in England’s schedule and shared a photo with the singer on Instagram afterwards.
He thanked her for the night on Instagram, writing: “Great to meet you @ellalangleymusic, thank you for having us! Amazing show, keep smashing it!”
The England striker also handed Langley an England shirt with “Langley 34” printed across the back.
The singer has a home team of her own to think about, but perhaps the gesture has earned Kane — and the Three Lions — a new fan.
USA and England clashing at the World Cup is a real possibility in the knockout rounds. There are multiple permutations which would see the two familiar foes square off in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and maybe even at the World Cup final.
In that scenario, it’s hard to imagine a jersey will be enough for Langley to switch allegiances. Still, it was worth a try.
