Harry Kane has given an extensive interview with Sky Sports this weekend ahead of a meeting with Liverpool in the Premier League.
The Spurs striker, who has gotten over a poor summer with England internationally, was discussing the transfers and managerial changes at rival clubs when he made it clear he was happy with Pochettino’s approach.
He stated:
“Teams buy players and change managers if they feel they need change at the club. The gaffer doesn’t feel like we needed that. He was happy with his squad.
“He added a couple of great signings, and we’re happy. We’ve been getting better every year, but for us it’s just about staying focused.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane warms up before the match
“There’s a lot of talk about the Uniteds, the Citys, the Chelseas, the new managers, new players, and we’re happy for people to talk about them, we’ll just do what we do each week.”
So far Spurs have been one of the quieter operators in the transfer market.
They have signed just Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen this summer, although both look like excellent acquisitions.
Other than that there has been little change – despite numerous rumours suggesting new names that might be coming to the club.
For now, it seems that Pau Lopez and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou could arrive before the deadline shuts but the impression is that Spurs boss Pochettino would be content with the squad he has right now if the window was to suddenly shut.
This consistency can only be good for team morale and Spurs fans will be hoping that their old favourites such as Kane can fire the club to another Premier League title fight.
