Rio Ferdinand has urged Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy on Twitter to publicly speak about Harry Kane’s situation, amid reported interest from Manchester City.

The Telegraph have reported that Kane did not show up for training at Tottenham today.

The report has claimed that Premier League champions City want to sign the England international striker, adding that Tottenham chairman Levy does not want to sell the 28-year-old.

The Daily Star have reported that the Citizens are ready to pay £120 million for the English striker, but Levy values him at £160 million.

Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand has said on Twitter that Levy needs to make a public statement about Kane.

Harry Kane controversy

A player not turning up for training is very controversial.

Kane not showing up for pre-season training today is unlikely to go down well with the fans.

It will be interesting to see what happens now.

This is clearly encouraging for City, who now know for sure that Kane wants to move to the Etihad Stadium.

Spurs chairman Levy is a tough negotiator, and he will not want to sell Kane on the cheap.

Remember, Kane has a contract with Tottenham, who are not obliged to sell the striker even if he wants to go.
