Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane suggests that he is happy to play as a number 10.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has suggested to The Hackney Gazette that he is open to playing as a number 10.

Kane is the number one striker at Tottenham at the moment and has been scoring goals regularly for the past two seasons.

During the 2014-15 campaign, the England international scored 21 goals and created 27 chances in 34 Premier League matches for Spurs.

The 23-year-old scored 25 goals and created 44 chances in 38 league games for the North London outfit last season.

The striker has yet to score in the Premier League this season, and at the weekend he was deployed as a number 10 against Crystal Palace.

Kane featured in a supporting role behind summer signing Vincent Janssen in a 4-2-3-1 formation in the Premier League game against Palace at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The England international has stated that he is open to playing in a number 10 role.

“Exactly, and I played as a No10 throughout my time in the youth team and a lot growing up, so I’m used to that position,” Kane told The Hackney Gazette when pointed out that he played behind Roberto Soldado or Emmanuel Adebayor in the number 10 role in some of his earliest appearances under Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

“It feels like a long time ago now but I’m happy to play that role and I think it worked well on Saturday.

“I thought we played well together. He likes to hold it up and bring others into play. We created a lot of chances and on another day we both could have scored a couple of goals.

“If the manager wants us to play together throughout the season then we’re more than capable of doing that. We’ll create a lot of chances and score a lot of goals.”

Against Palace at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon, Kane took six shots and created one chance, as Spurs won 1-0.

Tottenham will return to action next weekend when they take on Liverpool at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
