Tottenham Hotspur have a new goal-scorer and their star striker was pleased to see him arrive.
Tottenham Hotspur player Harry Kane has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund, with his comments later posted on Spurs’ official Twitter account.
Among the topics up for discussion was the recent arrival of Fernando Llorente from Swansea City, and regular top-scorer Kane is happy to see the towering Spaniard adding more goal threat to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
“Fernando has been a fantastic addition,” Kane said. “He’s a great guy and somebody I can learn a lot from.”
Llorente scored 15 goals in 35 appearances for the Swans last time out and he adds some much needed support for Kane, who Tottenham have relied on for their goals for too long.
As good as the England international is, he cannot be expected to do it on his own year after year and Llorente can expect plenty of chances as the season progresses.
The 32-year-old was an unused substitute for Tottenham’s match against Everton last weekend. However he could get minutes against a Dortmund team desperate to qualify along with Real Madrid from a very tough group.
As a consequence, Tottenham need to hit the ground running by securing three points on Wednesday, ending their ongoing Wembley hoodoo in the process.
