Tottenham Hotspur are still unbeaten in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane has told The Standard that the Lilywhites can win the Premier League title this season.

Spurs are unbeaten from their five outings so far, winning three and drawing two as Mauricio Pochettino’s side sit four points behind top-of-the-table Manchester City.

They have also survived some pretty tough tests so far following 1-1 draws with Everton and Liverpool; both of whom have also enjoyed fine starts to the Premier League campaign.

But there is a distinct chance that Tottenham could struggle for the rest of the calendar year after Kane – who has netted in excess of 60 goals for Spurs over the past two seasons – was ruled out for up to two months with ankle ligament damage.

Vincent Janssen, and perhaps Son Heung-min in lesser games initially, will be charged with the task of filling the goalscoring void left by the 23-year-old, and Kane, whose 25 Premier League goals propelled his side into title credential last season, believes his team-mates are well equipped to launch a better assault this time around.

“Yeah, definitely,” Kane said to The Standard when asked if Spurs are capable of lifting the title.

“It’s going to be a difficult season because there are a lot of top teams in the Premier League but we just have to be consistent and stay together.

“We really gave it a go last year – we have to learn from that and win even more games.”

Pochettino’s side visit newly-promoted Middlesbrough on Saturday in their first league game without their talisman.
