Spurs thrashed Stoke City 4-0 on Saturday, with Son scoring twice on his first appearance of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur goalscoring stars Harry Kane and Heung-min Son have voiced their delight to BBC Sport at the 4-0 thrashing of Stoke City on Saturday.
Spurs continued their unbeaten start to the season in style by putting four past the Potters without reply at the Britannia Stadium for the second time in five months.
Heung-min Son, making his first appearance of the season, scored two fine goals before Dele Alli and Harry Kane added gloss to the scoreline.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side now have eight points from their first four games, and after some criticism of them for failing to turn draws into victories against Everton and Liverpool, they made a strong statement of intent against the Potters.
Things are looking up for Spurs, and Pochettino will have been particularly pleased to see Son shine so brightly during his first involvement of the campaign.
The Korean star was clearly delighted with his brace and said as much to BBC Sport after the game.
The 24-year-old said: “It is unbelievable to win at Stoke away. we had a great game and deserved to win. Both of my goals gave me pleasure because it is my first game of the season.”
Kane will also be relieved to have got off the mark for the season, and expressed his pride at his side’s result.
The England man added: “It is not an easy place to come but to win 4-0 here last year and today made it look easier than it is. I don’t think we started that well but then we punished them when we needed to.”
Spurs’ attentions will now turn to their Champions League opener with Monaco on Wednesday.
