Rangers forward Harry Forrester has struggled to force his way into the starting line-up of late.
Rangers’ Harry Forrester reacts
Former Hibernian and Doncaster Rovers defender Rob Jones has backed Rangers star Harry Forrester to hit the ground running and have a huge impact on his side’s fortunes when he is given a run of games in the starting XI, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The 25-year-old former Doncaster forward has struggled to establish himself at Ibrox this season, after initially making an impressive start when he moved to Glasgow in January on a free transfer.
But Jones, who spent two-and-a-half years playing with Forrester at the Keepmoat Stadium, has full faith in the Rangers man, and backed him to prove his worth when given the chance, as quoted by the Daily Record:
“Harry can go wherever he wants to go and will benefit from a run of games. Footballers need six or seven on the bounce to really show what they’ve got and it’s difficult when you don’t get that sequence. I’ve come across many players in my time who I’ve looked at and thought ‘He’s a player’ and Harry is up there with the best of them.”
Forrester has received his fair share of criticism of late, not least from his manager Mark Warburton, who highlighted his poor performances in training as a reason why he hasn’t been a regular starter for his side recently, as quoted by the Scottish Sun:
“Harry will admit himself that he has been below his level in training.”

The 25-year-old’s overall record at Ibrox is actually fairly admirable, scoring seven goals in 20 league games – with nine of those appearances coming from the bench.
Next up for the Gers is a trip to Partick Thistle on Saturday, and Forrester will be hoping for an opportunity to show Warburton what he is truly capable of.
