The Rangers midfielder believes his former Watford youth teammate will be a good addition to the Gers squad.
Rangers midfielder Harry Forrester has told the club’s official website that his former Watford youth teammate and new Gers signing Lee Hodson will be a great addition to the club’s squad.
Rangers made Hodson their eighth signing of the season when he joined on a three-year deal from MK Dons earlier this week.
The 24-year-old is the second defender to move to Ibrox this summer after former QPR veteran Clint Hill, and will add increased competition and depth to Mark Warburton’s defensive options as the club prepare for their return to the top flight.
Forrester said on Thursday that he felt the new competition for places in the squad could only be a good thing for the Gers, and the 25-year-old has now given his verdict on the man he used to play alongside in the Watford youth system.
The midfielder told the club’s website: “I played with him when I was about 15 or 16 at Watford and against him a few times when I was in England and for Killie last season.
“He is a good player and I’m sure he’ll bring more competition to the squad. He’s a good lad and will be a good edition.
“He is a solid full back, he is a very good defender in 1 vs 1 situations and he will get forward. He is young and hungry which the gaffer loves.”
Northern Ireland international full-back Hodson has an impressive amount of experience for a man who does not even turn 25 until October.
He has racked up 167 senior appearances across spells at four different clubs, but after falling out of favour at Dons last term he spent the final months of the campaign on loan at Scottish side Kilmarnock.
