Ex-Glasgow Rangers pair Harry Forrester and Carlos Cuellar have both praised the Ibrox side for beating Celtic.

Rangers won 2-0 against their Glasgow rivals on Sunday afternoon, as Steven Gerrard’s men sent out a statement for next season.

Rangers have closed the gap on Celtic this term, and they were the dominant force at Ibrox.

It has been a long time since Rangers looked so impressive in an Old-Firm derby.

And both Forrester and Cuellar were delighted with the Light Blues’ display.

Rangers took the lead early on against Celtic, with James Tavernier curling in a free-kick, and they never looked back after.

Rangers scored a second through Scott Arfield to put the gloss on the scoreline that their performance richly deserved.

Rangers have now closed the gap on Celtic to just six points this season to highlight the progress that they have made under Gerrard so far.
