Neil Harris has warned Leeds that hostile atmospheres brings the best out of Millwall.
Millwall manager Neil Harris has sent a bold warning to Leeds United when speaking to his club’s official website on Friday, as the two sides meet at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds will be looking to exact revenge on their bitter rivals Millwall after losing 1-0 to Aiden O’Brien’s strike back in September, but they will have to do it without banned stars Eunan O’Kane and Samu Saiz.
The Whites come into the game in a bad run of form, losing three out of their last four games and scoring just one goal through Gaetano Berardi during the 2-1 defeat to League Two Newport County.
However, Millwall are yet to secure an away win this season in 14 league and cup attempts, and that will give Leeds confidence that they can claim all three points. But Harris warned Leeds that a hostile Elland Road will boost Millwall.
“We have had some really good games against Leeds over the years,” Harris said. “The atmosphere will be electric. A big crowd, noisy and hostile and those are the conditions that bring out the best in Millwall Football Club.
“We have had a great week’s training and we are really confident going into this one.
“Leeds are a really good side and are pushing for a Play-Off place but we have shown earlier this season that we can compete against them. We have to certainly be at our best this weekend because they have some talented players.”
As well as missing O’Kane and Saiz, Leeds will also be without striker Caleb Ekuban while Thomas Christiansen ruled out including new signing Adam Forshaw. However, Laurens De Bock is in the squad.
Leeds will also take confidence from the fact that Millwall’s last five trips to Elland Road have resulted in Leeds wins, the last being a 1-0 win in February 2015 thanks to a first-half strike from Alex Mowatt.
