Owen Hargreaves thinks that Harry Kane’s body language proved that he ‘didn’t believe’ in what Nuno Espirito Santo is doing at Tottenham, as he told Premier League Productions (30/10/21 at 7:55 pm).

The former England midfielder stated ‘no wonder fans are booing’ against Manchester United given the quality of players Tottenham have and the way they are performing, in comparison.

On Saturday evening, Spurs were comfortably beaten by Manchester United on home soil, despite the visitors coming into the match after being thrashed by Liverpool the week before.

The manner in which Spurs were playing, especially in the second half, was met with some serious booing, as the atmosphere turned toxic.

One moment in particular, which saw Lucas Moura being subbed, was met with some serious dissatisfaction from the home fans.

Kane hasn’t been playing well all season and he has only managed to muster one Premier League goal.

But Hargreaves thinks the England captain didn’t believe in what his manager was dishing out yesterday.

“For a quality of player, to play that poorly,” said Hargreaves. “No wonder the fans are booing.

“Harry Kane’s body language. He didn’t look like he believed in what they were doing.

“He is a fabulous player. But he didn’t believe in what they were doing. You can have moments when you doubt. But he is the leader of the team, he has to be leading front and centre.

“Like Cavani and Ronaldo, who are older than Harry – But he didn’t look like he believed in what they are doing.”

To put it simply, Nuno’s not going to last long in the job given the way things are going.

The manner in which the home fans reacted yesterday was pretty toxic and Daniel Levy would have heard it.

But the problem there is that it’s also his fault and anger was also aimed towards his direction.

Nuno is an issue at Spurs, but someone like Levy and the others in the boardroom are a far bigger problem than the man currently in the dugout.
