Jamie Redknapp suggested on Sky Sports PL (06/12/20 at 6:40 pm) that someone like Giovani Lo Celso won’t be enjoying playing in this current system at Tottenham.
Lo Celso started Tottenham’s win in the North London derby on Sunday and Redknapp shared that the ‘exquisite’ midfielder ‘hardly touched the ball’ during the game.
Tanguy Ndombele was supposed to be the player to start Tottenham’s showdown against their rivals, but a late withdrawal meant that Lo Celso filled that void.
Redknapp shared his thoughts on Lo Celso’s performance for Spurs and why most of the players will buy into the way they are playing.
“Lo Celso really hasn’t had an impact in this game,” said Redknapp. “It doesn’t matter when you are winning [about the style of play], but it maybe matters when you don’t win then you start to get players who are a little unhappy.
“But, right now, you are going to buy into it because a lot of these players have never won anything before, so you want to win matches.
“You cannot say that it could be enjoyable for some of the players. Like Le Celso, the way that he plays. He’s a number 10. A really exquisite footballer on the ball. He hardly touched the ball. But he made a lot of challenges and worked hard for the team.”

Since joining Tottenham, Mourinho has started to craft a more workman-like, physical and more aggressive midfield than Mauricio Pochettino had built during his time at the club.
Pochettino’s midfield was more technical, with players picking up pockets of spaces and making late runs into the penalty area.
Lo Celso is no doubt a Pochettino type of player, after all, it was was his fellow countryman who signed the £27 million player [BBC Sport] initially on loan before he was sacked.
