West Ham United defender Winston Reid has told the club’s official website that they must work hard to get their confidence back this season.
The Hammers are currently in the bottom three of the Premier League with just three points from their first six games.
Their poor form continued on Sunday as they were beaten 3-0 by Southampton at the London Stadium.
It was their fourth straight defeat, a run that has put the pressure firmly on them and manager Slaven Bilic.

Confidence in the Hammers squad is at a low, to say the least, and Reid says there is only one way for them to get it back.
“To get our confidence back, we need to work hard,” he told the club’s official website.
“We need to dig deep and work a lot harder. We’re six games in and we’ve only got three points, so we need to dig deeper, produce a better performance and get a win.”

While Reid believes it is hard work that will get them out of this current predicament, it is a defensive improvement that they truly need.
They have conceded 2.6 goals per game so far this season, a record that is the worst in the Premier League to date.
Last season they conceded 1.3 goals per game on average and a return to that kind of defensive solidity is needed quickly to turn around this poor start to the campaign.
