Jordan Henderson has admitted on Twitter that it’s ‘hard to find the words’ to sum up his feelings after Liverpool’s draw with Everton on Saturday.
Henderson could and perhaps should have been the hero at Goodison Park yesterday.
The Liverpool captain, a £20 million signing in 2011, scored in the dying minutes as the Reds looked to have snatched a dramatic 3-2 win over their Merseyside rivals.
But it was controversially ruled out for offside after a VAR check.
That was one of several controversial moments throughout an incident-packed game with Carlo Ancelotti’s side, one of the others being Jordan Pickford avoiding a red card – and the concession of a penalty – when he lunged into Virgil van Dijk after 11 minutes, forcing the Dutch defender off the field with an injury.

There could and may be further bad news for Liverpool, after Richard Keys revealed live on BeIN Sport last night that he had received information about Van Dijk suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage, opening the door for a potential eight-month absence.
It was a disastrous day for the Premier League champions all things considered and Henderson is right – the words just don’t come easy.
