Pontus Jansson has praised Leeds captain Liam Cooper on social media after his performance against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.
The Swedish centre-half of course knows Cooper very well, partnering him at the back for a number of years at Elland Road before moving to Brentford.
Jansson left Leeds under something of a dark cloud, with rumours of a dressing room fall-out with Marcelo Bielsa circulating at the time, but it seems as though there are no hard feelings on his end, as he claims he’s happy to see Cooper performing in the Premier League.
This is heartwarming to see if you’re a Leeds fan.
Jansson may have left the club before their promotion season, but during his time at Leeds he became a real cult hero, and he clearly still has a strong affinity to the club, praising his former teammate and saying he’s happy to follow their journey in the Premier League.
Jansson himself has never played in the Premier League, but that could all change in the near future as Brentford continue their march in the Championship.
If Brentford do come up, we can’t wait to see Jansson return to Elland Road to face off against his old teammates.
