Liverpool and Manchester United are both interested in Kylian Mbappe – Erik ten Hag is said to view him as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
It was Marca who claimed that Jürgen Klopp wants the France international amid doubts over his future at Paris Saint-Germain, whereas the Mirror believe Manchester United are keen on him after terminating Ronaldo’s contract.
Now, Nasser Al Khelaifi – President of PSG – has provided an update.
What’s the story?
Well, a number of news outlets in France – as well as respected journalist Julien Laurens – claimed that Mbappe is unhappy at the Parc des Princes, and wants to leave.
However, Al Khelaifi has now addressed these rumours, pouring cold water on Liverpool and Manchester United’s hopes of signing the 23-year-old.
Speaking to Marca, the 49-year-old said: “Every day and every week I’m here to say that Kylian has signed a new deal with PSG and we are very happy.”

Mbappe put pen to paper on fresh terms until June 2025 back in May, which is before rumours about his unhappiness began to arise in September.
In our view, Al Khelaifi seems to be speaking out of frustration after constant questions about his No.7’s future in Paris, so we would take his claims that Mbappe is happy with a pinch of salt.
Liverpool & Manchester United will struggle to sign Mbappe
Whether Mbappe is happy or not, he did sign a new three-year contract as recently as May, which will make an exit very, very difficult.
PSG are hardly going to make it simple for the hottest property on the planet to walk away from Paris, so Klopp and Ten Hag may have to wait until 2025 to get their hands on the France international, who has remarkably scored 22 goals already this season.
Mbappe has netted 19 goals in just 20 games for PSG this term, and has also scored three in two appearances at the World Cup so far.
Unless the Frenchman basically goes on strike and refuses to play for PSG when he returns from Qatar, we can’t see a way in which Liverpool or Manchester United get their hands on him.
