Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been linked with Kai Havertz, but his former Chelsea teammate Antonio Rudiger wants the attacker to join him at Real Madrid instead.
The Telegraph reported last week that Real Madrid and Arsenal are interested in sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are willing to sell the Germany international, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are looking for £70 million for the 24-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward.
Germany international defender Rudiger played with his compatriot at Chelsea, and he wants the Arsenal target to join him at Madrid.
AS quotes Rudiger as saying about Havertz: “It would make me happy to play with Havertz again at club level.
“Unfortunately, I cannot say a lot about it… in terms of transfers, my opinion is secondary. They’re club decisions.”

Real Madrid over Arsenal for Chelsea’s Kai Havertz
In our view, Real Madrid would be a more appealing club than Arsenal for Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz.
Madrid are arguably the biggest club in the world who regularly compete for and win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
Los Blancos have a very young and dynamic team, and Havertz would fit in nicely in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
True, Arsenal are a massive club too and are a global brand, but it is hard to see a player turn down the chance to move to Madrid to join the Gunners.
However, it remains to be seen if Madrid are willing to pay the £70 million transfer fee that Chelsea are looking for Havertz.
Havertz made 30 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea this past season.
The attacker scored seven goals and gave one assist in those games.
