Bryan Gil has posted on Instagram that he is ‘happy’ to have made his Champions League debut for Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

Antonio Conte’s side recorded a goalless draw against 2022 Europa League winners, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Bryan Gil came off the bench for 12 minutes of action.

Those were the first minutes Gil has tasted during this campaign, and on Wednesday evening, he posted the following message to his supporters: “Happy for the Champions League debut and for the first minutes of the season.”

BRYAN GIL TO LEAVE TOTTENHAM?

Signed during the 2021 summer transfer window, when Nuno Espirito Santo was in the dugout, it has been a transfer to forget for all parties, so far, and it seems as though it won’t end in a positive light.

Since being in Spurs colours, Gil has just started eight games in all competitions and earned less than 800 minutes of action, not forgetting that he was loaned out to Valencia in January.

Well, it seems as though the Spain international wants out and a return to Valencia, when the transfer window re-opens in January – a move during the 2022 summer transfer window failed to materialise.

For some, they will point towards how Gil is a flop signing, but if you have hardly played, and earned zero starts in the Premier League, then should you be cut some slack?

Now, there is still a long way to go from now until the transfer window re-opens, so perhaps this is Gil’s chance to change the tide at Hotspur Way.

But, in order for him to do that, Conte needs to provide him with just 12 minutes of football, Gil’s issue is that he is competing with a serious threatening attacking forward line, so it’s difficult, even on a good day, to break up the likes of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.
