Shaka Hislop has now said that he is quite sure that Ange Postecoglou would now accept the Tottenham Hotspur manager job.

The former West Ham United goalkeeper made this claim on ESPN, as the club’s search for a brand-new coach continues.

After Feyenoord manager Arne Slot turned down the chance to become the next Tottenham Hotspur, Shaka Hislop is assured that Ange Postecoglou will not do the same.

Shaka Hislop tips Ange Postecoglou to become Tottenham manager

The Australian tactician has done an excellent job at Celtic, leading his side to the Scottish Premiership title in two seasons in a row.

Branded as ‘elite’ by John Kenny via Football Scotland, the 57-year-old has most certainly moved the needle in Glasgow ever since his arrival.

As Tottenham Hotspur remain persistent in their search of a new manager, Shaka Hislop has confidently claimed that Ange Postecoglou would say yes to the offer.

“[Luis] Enrique and [Julian] Nagelsmann, I’m not sure either of them would go to Spurs. Here’s the issue for Spurs, they are a damaged brand. I’m not sure how many are that excited about Spurs and working with Daniel Levy. Postecoglou would happily make that move south, no question,” Hislop said.

Ange Postecoglou would be a calculated gamble for Spurs

While all one can do is wait and watch whether Shaka Hislop is proven right, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou would certainly be a risk worth taking for Tottenham.

During his time at the club, the highly-acclaimed coach has proven that he is extremely switched-on from a tactical perspective.

Setting Australia up in a low block during their 2015 Asia Cup triumph to playing an expansive brand of football at Celtic, Postecoglou is known to be tactically malleable.

This would benefit Spurs, who lack any cohesive identity at the moment and have struggled to build on the ideas set by Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.

Just for this reason alone, alongside Ange Postecoglou’s experience in the game, he may be worth a punt.
