Leicester City are moving in on the signature of German international goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.
His current club Hannover confirmed in a club statement that the 27-year-old had headed to Leicester for talks over a move to the Premier League champions.
The report states that Zieler will complete a £2.6 million deal. He is available on the cheap after Hannover’s relegation to the 2. Bundesliga.

Zieler, who was part of Germany’s World Cup winning squad, is an exceptional shot-stopper and a safe pair of hands between the sticks.
The former Manchester United youngster would have been on many manager’s wish lists this summer so his signature is certainly something of a coup for the club.

Zieler will however be asked to act as a back-up keeper at the King Power Stadium. Current incumbent Kasper Schmeichel is coming off the back of an incredible season and it would seem unlikely that the Dane will be dropped as the club’s first-choice stopper at the moment.

The Hannover keeper, who made more saves than any other keeper in the top European leagues next season, would be a fantastic signing by Leicester – who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season’s Champions League challenge.
