Some Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the prospect of Sergio Romero moving to Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Leeds, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, are interested in signing Romero from United this summer, according to ESPN.

The report has also credited Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton with interest in the Argentina international goalkeeper.

Romero is the second-choice goalkeeper at United, and that is unlikely to change if David de Gea says at Old Trafford.

Spain international De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but the former Atletico Madrid star has made mistakes from time to time this season.

With Dean Henderson set to return to United from his loan spell at Sheffield United, it will further increase competition for Romero next season.

Kiko Casilla is the first-choice goalkeeper at Leeds, who have also made the loan deal of Illan Meslier permanent from Lorient.

Some United fans have given their take on the prospect of Romero moving to Leeds this summer.

Below are some of the best comments:

Meanwhile, Lille president Gerard Lopez has said that Jonathan David wants to join his club, despite Gent chairman Ivan De Witte recently telling De Zondag that Leeds have made an offer for the forward.

Lopez told L’Équipe, as translated by Get French Football News: “The player absolutely wants to play for Lille. He does not want to go to the other clubs.

“Our team is made up of characters like him. Everything will depend on their board. We might up our offer in the coming days.”
