West Ham United expect to have Enner Valencia back in their squad to face Leicester City.
West Ham United physio Stijn Vandenbroucke has told the club’s official website of the progress Enner Valencia is making as the Ecuadorian looks to return from injury.
Valencia lacerated his big toe in bizarre fashion, after stepping on broken glass in his own home, and the problem has kept him out since the start of March.
Valencia required stitches to solve the problem and the cut has taken some time to heal, but Vandenbroucke revealed that the club are hopeful he will be able to play in their next match against Leicester City.
“With Enner Valencia, we have seen a specialist again and he is healing well after he lacerated his big toe on 10 March,” he said. “Enner was unable to go away on international duty with Ecuador, but now he is building up his training with the aim of being available for the Leicester game.”

West Ham’s fixture against Leicester comes on April 4th and his return will be a boost for the side, as they are in need of having all their attacking options available to them for the run-in.
The Hammers’ form has dipped as the season has progressed, with injuries mounting up, and getting a key player off the treatment table is sure to be a bonus for Sam Allardyce’s squad.
Although Valencia has not had quite the level of impact that West Ham would have hoped when he arrived last summer, he has still had a decent first season in England and shown his ability in flashes.
The summer signing is blessed with great pace and power and he just needs to start adding consistency to his obvious quality.
