Some West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter following a report from talkSPORT regarding Jack Wilshere’s future.
talkSPORT claim that the 34-capped England international is set to have his contract terminated at the London Stadium. Should this happen, it will bring an end to two injury-hit years with the Hammers.
Wilshere was signed by Manuel Pellegrini on a free transfer after leaving Arsenal. The 28-year-old has been earning £100k-a-week since arriving in east London.
However, he has made just 18 first-team appearances for the Irons.

It now looks like David Gold, David Sullivan and Karren Brady are keen to get the ex-Bournemouth man off the wage bill. Wilshere’s current terms expire next summer, after he signed a three-year contract in 2018.
However – as some fans point out – terminating his deal generally means the player has his contract paid out in full in some way or another.
In that respect, wouldn’t it just make sense to keep Wilshere around for the last year of his contract in the hope that he can appear every now and again?

Despite the West Ham midfielder’s issues, it feels like that would be a more astute decision than simply paying to get rid of him.
Let’s see what the Irons supporters on Twitter have been saying…
