West Ham United are currently sitting precariously in the Premier League table.
West Ham star Pablo Zabaleta sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and shared how injuries to key players have proved to be a real problem for his side so far this season.
The Hammers currently sit precariously in 14th position in the Premier League table, just three points clear of the drop zone, but their last two defeats – both 4-1 losses, will have their fans fearing the worst.
One real concern for the east London outfit is some of the fixtures that they face in their last nine games. They still have to play Arsenal and Chelsea away and the two Manchester clubs at home, and if David Moyes’ men are to reach the magical 40 points mark, they will have to start winning games asap.
Zabaleta, though, highlighted his side’s horrendous luck with injuries as a major contributing factor to their inconsistent form so far this season, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“We have got nine finals, that is the reality. If you look at the whole season and how it’s been so far, there have been so many ups and downs, we have done good things and bad things, there have been many changes and injuries have been a problem for us as well, in key moments and to key players.”
Next up for West Ham is their huge clash with Burnley at the London Stadium on Saturday, and with some of the incredibly hard fixtures that await Moyes’ side, nothing less than a win will do against the Clarets.
