Celtic cannot afford a slip-up as they aim to stay in the title race

Celtic raised the league flag when they last met Hamilton Accies, but things haven’t quite gone to plan since that opening day victory.

Odsonne Edouard scored hat-trick as the champions cruised to a 5-1 win, but they’ve gone on to fall 16 points behind Rangers in the title race following a number of disappointing performances.

With the New Year derby drawing nearer, Neil Lennon’s men can ill-afford to drop points.

They face Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park in their penultimate fixture of 2020.

FORM

Celtic have arrested the slump that saw protests outside their ground calling for Neil Lennon to be dismissed, with five games having now passed since their last defeat.

They beat Ross County 2-0 at Celtic Park on Wednesday night, with goals coming from David Turnbull and Leigh Griffiths.

Brian Rice’s Accies sit second-bottom, four points ahead of the Staggies and behind St Johnstone on goal difference.

They’ve won two of their last five matches, and were beaten 2-0 at home by Livingston on Wednesday night.

KICK-OFF

The action begins at 3pm on Saturday December 26 in Hamilton.
