Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are relieved that Willian has distanced himself between a move to Jose Mourinho’s side.
Richard Keys revealed that the Chelsea winger has already spoken to Spurs boss Mourinho about a switch to North London.
Willian, who earns £120,000 per week in West London [Spotrac], is out of contract with the Blues this summer.
And with finances tight at Tottenham, it’s been suggested that chairman Daniel Levy might be in the market for bargain-basement additions when the transfer window opens.
Despite Keys’s comments, the Brazil international claims that he hasn’t spoken to Mourinho about a move to the Lilywhites.
And some Tottenham supporters on social media are happy that there’s not much substance to the speculation as of yet.
Here’s how they reacted to his comments on Twitter:
Mourinho is familiar with Willian after working with him at Chelsea, but does the Portuguese coach need him? Before the global health crisis, no – Mourinho would’ve been looking at bigger and better and younger players – but considering he’s free, nothing can be ruled out in this climate.
