Fabinho is in line to return for Liverpool tonight – and potentially in more ways than one.
The former Monaco powerhouse has been out injured since the 4-1 defeat by Manchester City a month ago.
But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed on Wednesday that he’s fit to return to the squad for tonight’s visit of Chelsea to Anfield.
More significantly, the Reds’ manager has also revealed that he could potentially use Fabinho as a midfielder again.
The Brazilian has spent most of the season as a makeshift centre-back following injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
And despite doing brilliantly in an ever-changing back four, Fabinho is a midfielder by trade and the fact is that his presence in defence makes Klopp’s side weaker in the middle of the park.
