Liverpool have reportedly been tracking the Ajax star this summer.

Jurgen Klopp manager

Quite where Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp plans to strengthen his squad this summer is somewhat of a mystery at the moment.

The Reds have arguably the best defensive unit in the Premier League, so they seem to be fairly well stocked in that department at the moment.

Liverpool were quite simply brilliant last season, but it could be argued that they lacked that certain kind of cutting edge in the final third, when coming up against stubborn, well-drilled defences.

Klopp could really do with adding another top class attacker, as well as more creativity in the middle of the park.

And with this in mind, the Reds should consider a move for Ajax ace Hakim Ziyech, and kill two birds with one stone in the process.

The Moroccan is a right winger by trade, but he proved last season that he is equally capable fo dropping into central midfield, and dictating the tempo of the game.

He racked up an impressive 21 goals and 24 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions for Ajax last season, and that kind of attacking output would undoubtedly take Liverpool to another level entirely.

The 26-year-old possesses pace in abundance and play with a certain kind of directness that would see him slot perfectly into Klopp’s high-octane setup at Anfield.

The really attractive thing for Liverpool will be that Ziyech is available for just £30 million this summer, according to the Mirror, and the fact that he can solve two problems for Klopp will surely appeal to the German.

And should Liverpool sign the Ajax ace this summer, it could turn out to be a really significant piece of business for the Merseyside outfit.
