Rangers are looking to bring midfielder Ovie Ejaria to Ibrox, according to reports.

Rangers continue to be linked with a host of new signings, and a deal for one Liverpool talent may in fact go through this week, if reports are to be believed.
With deals for Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield tied up, as well as a permanent move for loanee Jamie Murphy, Rangers are looking to equip new boss Steven Gerrard with as much talent as possible.
Now, Gerrard looks to be returning to former club Liverpool for his next signing, with the Daily Record reporting that a loan deal for Reds talent Ovie Ejaria is set for completion in the next 48 hours.

Ejaria, 20, was on the books with Arsenal before making a 2016 switch to Liverpool, and it’s difficult to judge whether that move has paid dividends for the midfielder.
Ejaria hasn’t quite managed to crack into Liverpool’s first team on a regular basis, and a January loan move to Sunderland proved to be something of a disaster given his poor displays in a sorry team which suffered relegation to League One.
Ejaria needs to get back on track, and Rangers – spearheaded by Gerrard, who will have seen plenty of the England Under-21 international – may well feel that they can give Ejaria the chance to put his Sunderlands stint behind him.

Strong and possessing quick feet, Ejaria was once – even if only tongue-in-cheek – compared to Paul Pogba by Liverpool fans, and even Jamie Redknapp hailed him after a EFL Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
As we quoted in 2016, Redknapp told Sky Sports that he felt Ejaria was ‘exciting’ as he is strong, holds players off when dribbling and showed good passing, praising him for grabbing the game by the scruff of its neck.
Rangers will now hope to see the player Redknapp hailed around 18 months ago, rather than the one who received criticism during his disappointing spell with Sunderland.
