Newcastle United fans are in disbelief after links with Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz.
Sport BILD writer Christian Falk has suggested that Newcastle could make a move for Havertz.
There were not many details other than that, but it seems that Newcastle do have an eye on the German forward.
The rumours have excited some Magpies fans, but there is a serious amount of doubt over whether such a deal would be possible.
Havertz is said to be valued at £90 million by Bleacher Report, and to pay that sort of fee Newcastle will need their takeover to go through.
Newcastle have been waiting for the Premier League to green light their potential new owners for some time now, but it still seems no decision is imminent.
If Newcastle’s new owners were to bring in Havertz it would really announce the club’s new found ambition, but Magpies fans are right to be sceptical over the rumour for now, as any move seems a long way off.
