Hadi Sacko has revealed to LUTV his first impressions of the Elland Road faithful after joining Leeds United on loan last season.

The 23-year-old winger sealed a £2 million (via France Football) permanent switch to Leeds this week after seemingly impressing during his loan from Sporting Lisbon last term.

The Frenchman made his home debut in a pre-season friendly against Serie A outfit Atalanta last summer, with the Whites winning 2-1 on the day.

Close to 12,000 Leeds fans packed inside Elland Road that day, and Sacko admits he was blown away by the atmosphere.

“It’s very special to play at Elland Road. The fans are always very good. My first game at home was against Italian team Atalanta,” he told LUTV.

“When I see the fans and at the atmosphere at Elland Road I thought ‘Wow’. It’s a very beautiful stadium with very beautiful fans and I would like the same for next season.”

United fans were given plenty to shout about for most of last season, but a run of four matches without a victory toward the end of the campaign scuppered their hopes of a playoff spot as the Yorkshire club finished seventh in the Championship.

With Garry Monk no longer the manager, Leeds fans will be hoping that next season is equally as exciting, and if his successor can build on the foundations laid by Monk then it could be another promising campaign.
