The Leeds United loanee has done little to justify the club forking out for a long-term transfer.

Leeds United winger Hadi Sacko has technically come to the end of his loan deal at Elland Road, with the Whites’ season over earlier than they would have previously hoped, and given his lack of impact at the club he surely does not deserve a permanent transfer.

The 23-year-old signed from Sporting Lisbon back in the summer but a return of two goals and four assists in 42 appearances he has hardly set pulses racing.

In fact, that is a terrible return for a player tipped for big things when he first arrived at Elland Road.

Sacko’s fans will no doubt point to his overall performances, but nice touches and driving runs mean nothing without a goal or an assist at the end of them.

It is not as if Sacko was without an effective striker to get on the end of his deliveries, with Chris Wood in devastating form for the club.

For all Sacko’s innate talent he has not delivered anything close to what was expected of him and Leeds would be foolish to fork out for a player who is clearly not able to excel in the Championship.

He had his chance, he failed, and both Sacko and Leeds must now move on.
