Jürgen Klopp has been speaking ahead of the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
One topic on the agenda was the arrival of Brazil legend Claudio Taffarel, who has been appointed as part of the backroom staff.
What’s the story?
Well, Klopp seems very excited by the 55-year-old’s arrival, to say the least.
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, the German said: “He is a really good guy. We wanted a real solution for the boys and we want to create our own goalkeeper philosophy.
“We’ve had this idea for a while to work with our talented keepers. We spoke to Alisson and he was quite pleased about it. He’s known him for some years so here we go. It’s exciting. He is a brilliant guy.”
Aside from Alisson, it will also be interesting to see what impact Taffarel has on Marcelo Pitaluga, Liverpool’s 18-year-old goalkeeper.
According to The Athletic, the South American’s arrival on Merseyside will not see John Achterberg or his assistant Jack Robinson leave the Reds.

Instead, Taffarel will work alongside them, while also balancing his duties for Tite with the Brazil national team.
The Athletic add that Alisson played a key role in bringing his fellow Brazilian to Liverpool, by recommending him to Klopp.
Liverpool making marginal gains with Claudio Taffarel
It’s small details like this which make Liverpool arguably the best side in Europe right now.
As Klopp states, he wants Liverpool to create their own goalkeeping philosophy, and this should take that department up a gear.
It should hugely benefit Alisson to have Taffarel alongside him, with both Brazil and also Liverpool.

There will be no mixed signals, and he will always be able to focus on the same instructions and guidance for club and country.
Additionally, should Liverpool attempt to sign any more Brazilian players, a quick phone call or meeting with Taffarel could be enough to lure them to Anfield over another club, given his status in Brazil.
With all things considered, it’s a fine move by the Reds.
