Manchester City are reportedly keeping an eye on RB Leipzig striker Hwang Hee-chan, who has impressed for Wolves on-loan this season.

According to the Mirror, the Premier League champions, as well as Liverpool, have set their sights on Hwang. But only if Wolves can’t complete a permanent deal for the attacker.

Hwang, who has scored just six goals in 2021 at club level as per Transfermarkt, has been one of the surprise hits of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

The attacker has bagged four goals in nine league matches. And Wolves are now keen on making Hwang’s loan deal a permanent one, with City keeping an eye on the situation.

As per the report, City are keen to add more firepower to their squad in January. With Pep Guardiola’s side not having a single natural striker, with the likes of Ferran Torres and Phil Foden playing a false-nine role this campaign.

And the Manchester giants are seemingly keen on Hwang, who has taken to Premier League football with ease after struggling in for Leipzig since moving to the Bundesliga giants in 2020.

Indeed, despite Hwang’s impressive form, some City fans are opposed to the club signing the South Korean international. With some supporters still set on the Manchester giants signing the likes of Erling Haaland.
