Everton were far too strong for Crystal Palace in the Premier League yesterday.

Toffees ace Gylfi Sigurdsson spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League yesterday, and opened up on what was said in the home dressing room during the half-time break, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Everton remained in ninth spot in the Premier League table after their win over the Eagles, but they are now just two points adrift of seventh placed Burnley, although after the money spent by both Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce over the course of the last two transfer windows, this season must be judged as a failure so far.

One of their big-name signings was Sigurdsson, who arrived from Swansea City in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £45 million, but he hasn’t lived up to his expectations thus far, chipping in with just five goals and five assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.
The 28-year-old has made vast improvements over the past few weeks, however, and he told reporters how a half-time pep talk amongst the players helped them beat Palace, as quoted by the cub’s official website:

“At half time, we reminded ourselves how much we wanted to win this game, especially at home and with a few fixtures coming up which are very important for us. It was vital to get the three points.”
Next up for the Toffees is a trip to Watford on February 24th, and they will be looking to build on their victory over Palace with another win, and in doing so, begin their assault on the Europa League places.
