Crystal Palace’s move for the striker is said to have come too late.

A Crystal Palace fan surports his team during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Swansea City at Selhurst Park on August 26, 2017 in London, England.

Cenk Tosun would have been a Crystal Palace player now had they moved for him a week earlier, the Besiktas striker told TurkishFootball.com earlier this month.

He claimed the Eagles had an offer of £13.5 million accepted by the Turkish giants on deadline day, but it was too late to conclude a deal.

Cenk Tosun of Turkey heads the ball during a training session ahead of their UEFA Euro 2016 Group D match against Spain at Allianz Riviera Stadium on June 16, 2016 in Nice, France.

Palace’s failure to sign Tosun has left Christian Benteke as the club’s only fit senior striker, with Connor Wickham still sidelined.

And the 26-year-old has wasted little time showing Palace what they are missing. Two superb goals, one for Turkey during the international break and another against Porto in the Champions League last night, have only added to the Eagles fans’ frustrations in a turbulent week at Selhurst Park.

Here’s what they have been saying about his latest exploits on Twitter:

Should Crystal Palace move again for the Besiktas striker when the window reopens in January?
