A late goal prevented Forest moving up into the Championship play-off places.

Henri Lansbury and Pajtim Kasami have both taken to Twitter to express their disappointment after Rotherham’s late goal denied Nottingham Forest their third win in four league games.

Philippe Montanier’s side had the opportunity to move up to fifth with a win at the New York Stadium, but found themselves falling behind as Jon Taylor broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark.

And that was the way the scoreline would remain until the final 15 minutes when Forest temporarily turned the game on its head.

First, Matt Mills’ effort somehow managed to find its way past former Forest stopper Lee Camp before Apostolos Vellios scored his second goal in as many games to put the City Ground side ahead with just five minutes of normal time to go.

And with Millers full-back Darnell Fisher being sent off shortly before Vellios’ stunning overhead kick, it appeared that Forest were well on their way to a place in the top six.

However, just days after Lansbury’s late equaliser prevented Aston Villa securing the win after going 2-1 up on Montanier’s men, Forest found themselves agonisingly missing out on the victory as Taylor scored his second of the night with a neat finish to hand Forest their second consecutive 2-2 draw.

It could have been different however, with Nicklas Bendtner being presented with a glorious chance in the latter stages, only for his reaction header to come off the post and fall safe.

And after the game, both Lansbury and Kasami outlined their frustration on social media, while also praising the supporters for their contribution.
