Sam Greenwood made his first start for Leeds in the FA Cup against West Ham over the weekend, but he may have to wait a little while before his second start.
Indeed, sadly, the striker has confirmed on Instagram that he’s picked up an injury.
It’s unknown how long this issue will keep him sidelined for, but it has to be said, this has come at the worst possible time for the Whites.
Leeds United have an unmitigated crisis up top at the moment.
Patrick Bamford isn’t fully fit, Joe Gelhardt is facing a number of weeks on the sidelines, while Greenwood, Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo are also out.
It’s almost impossible to predict who Leeds will play up front in their next game. Dan James is a potential option, but even then, he’s not accustomed to playing in that role.
The Whites are in a relegation battle, and if the goals dry up even further, they could be facing a rather scary situation in a few weeks.
Luckily though, Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference comments last week did suggest that Bamford is on the verge of a return, so once he’s back, the Whites could pick up some momentum once again.
