Celtic will be without Swedish defender Carl Starfelt until after the international break with a hamstring injury.

Speaking to the press via Sky Sports News ahead of tonight’s UEFA Europa League clash against Ferencvaros, Ange Postecoglou revealed that Starfelt will be out until late November after suffering an injury.

Starfelt pulled up during Celtic’s goalless draw against Livingston in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday with a hamstring injury. Meaning that the defender will miss the Glasgow side’s next two matches before the international break.

The 26-year-old defender joined Celtic in the summer for a reported fee of £4m according to BBC Sport. And speaking to the press, Postecoglou was gutted to have lost Starfelt for the upcoming matches.

The Australian manager said: “He will definitely miss these two games. “It is always a blow when you lose players to injury.

“To be fair to Carl, he has played every game since he got here and it’s not surprising that he has something like this happen.”
