Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Fabrizio Romano revealed that Ademola Lookman is set to join Leicester.
What’s the story?
Firstly, you might wonder why this concerns Crystal Palace.
Well, it was The Athletic who revealed that Patrick Vieira wanted Lookman at Selhurst Park.
Now, that seems unlikely to happen with Brendan Rodgers closing in.
Lookman shone for Fulham last season, having joined the Cottagers on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig.
In 34 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old scored four goals and provided four assists.
That isn’t too many goal involvements, although it was clearly enough for a side as good as Leicester to take notice.
Crystal Palace just can’t get their hands on Ademola Lookman after Leicester move
This isn’t the first time Crystal Palace have wanted the London-born forward.
Before Lookman completed an £11m move to Everton in 2017, the Eagles were interested.
Also, in 2019, Crystal Palace eyed the Englishman as a potential replacement for Wilfried Zaha, with the Daily Mail describing him as a long-term target.
Now, after losing out to Leicester, it feels as if the south Londoners will never get their hands on the tricky forward.
If things don’t work out for Lookman in the Midlands, then perhaps the Eagles will get another chance.
