Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has proven his worth to Marco Silva’s side in recent months.
Calvert-Lewin has impressed this season through his hard-working performances at Goodison Park.
The young striker has led the line excellently for Marco Silva’s Everton side across recent weeks, with his boundless energy causing opposition defences plenty of issues.
The one concern about Calvert-Lewin’s game is that he has struggled to find the back of the net.
The Everton youngster has just six goals in the Premier League this term, despite featuring 33 times.
But Poyet has warned Everton that they face losing Calvert-Lewin if he does start hitting the back of the net.
Poyet said: “I think the goals will come. The perfection would be him scoring 20. We all know that if he does that next season, he will not be at Everton the season after. It is true, even Lukaku left.”
Everton will argue that they are now in a far stronger financial position than they were when they offloaded Romelu Lukaku.
The Toffees have suggested that they want to keep the core of their squad together, with Everton having some very exciting players breaking through.
