Newcastle United are in brilliant form as of late, and they have a great chance of continuing their good run this weekend against Brentford.
The Magpies’ three-game winning streak came to an end last weekend against West Ham, but with the Bees struggling, United will be hoping to get back to winning ways here.
However, if this season has proven anything it’s that Brentford are no pushovers. They’ve beaten Arsenal and drawn with Liverpool this term, so Newcastle won’t have a straightforward task here.
With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Eddie Howe’s starting XI for this one.
We think that Howe will make just one change from the team that drew with West Ham.
Bruno Guimaraes gets his first start for the club as he replaces Joe Willock in this XI.
Kieran Trippier remains sidelined with injury so Emil Krafth keeps his place in this team, while new signings Dan Burn and Matt Targett do start at the back.
Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton start alongside Guimaraes in the middle of the park, while Ryan Fraser should be ok to start this one despite fitness concerns.
Howe has a big decision to make with Allan Saint-Maximin after he missed the West Ham game through injury.
Saint-Maximin is a guaranteed starter when fit, but with Newcastle playing so well at the moment, throwing him in from the start here may be an unnecessary risk, so he remains on the bench for this one.
