The Tottenham Hotspur star has just 18 months remaining on his current contract.

Guillem Balague, Sky Sports Journalist talks during day 2 of the Soccerex Global Convention at Manchester Central Convention Complex on September 5, 2017 in Manchester, England.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague took to his personal Twitter account today, and suggested that Real Madrid will move for Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen in the summer, after claiming that Zinedine Zidane will return to the Los Blancos hot-seat later today.

The 27-year-old joined Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2013, for around £12.5 million, and he has gone on to be a real hit with the north London club, racking up an impressive 63 goals and 81 assists in 264 appearances in all competitions thus far.

Eriksen’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2020, however, and if he fails to sign a new deal between now and the summer, the north London outfit will surely look to cash in on the Denmark international, rather than risk losing him for nothing in 18 months time.

And Balague shared his belief that the Spurs play-maker could soon be on his way to the Bernabeu, when posting a video to his personal Twitter account today:

“Zinedine Zidane could be in charge of Real Madrid from today. Zidane also wants the likes of Hazard, and perhaps even Eriksen. He will get given all the sporting authority, and all the things he suggested in the summer, that Florentino Perez did not want to do, most of them will be done now.”

Quite how much Tottenham would demand for Eriksen is up for debate, but knowing Daniel Levy, they will not let him go without a fight, and as they have done in the past, they will most probably still get more than what he’s worth from Madrid, if they do indeed decide to sell the Dane.
