Guillem Balagué has shared that Alisher Usmanov has ‘blind faith’ in Everton’s potential new manager, Rafa Benitez, as he told his own YouTube channel.
The Spanish journalist shared that both Farhad Moshiri and Usmanov want Benitez at Everton because he is a ‘top manager’.
The obvious of Benitez being a Liverpool legend is staring everyone in the face, and it’s always going to be a talking point, but those in the Goodison Park boardroom are seemingly close to securing his coaching talents.
Even though some Everton supporters aren’t happy at the idea of Benitez potentially being appointed, Balagué thinks he will be looked after.
“I do believe the Evertonians on social media, they are very loud and you hear perhaps the loudest,” said Balague.
“But in the stadium, they are Liverpudlians, as in born in Liverpool and from the city of Liverpool. And they will look after Rafa Benitez, I am pretty sure.
“The reason why Moshiri and Usmanov want him it’s because he is a top manager and they have blind faith in what he can do.
“He will improve the team, no doubt.”

Ever since his Liverpool days, Benitez and his family have stayed on Merseyside, so he has that extra close connection with the city.
From his perspective, whilst it raises eyebrows from Liverpool fans, it works out for him, both geographically and trying to create more great moments in his career.
Everton are a sleeping giant and they want to return to Europe and start putting trophies back in their cabinet.
If he does that then those uncertain about his appointment will soon change their minds about him.
