Guillem Balague has informed BBC Sport that Mauricio Pochettino has told him that he has been very impressed by Tottenham Hotspur’s training sessions in the build up to the Champions League final.

Tottenham face Liverpool in Madrid tomorrow in arguably the biggest game in the club’s history.

Spurs have been preparing for the clash for three weeks now, meaning they have had plenty of time on the training field.

And Pochettino believes everything has gone swimmingly for his side, according to Balague.

“The weather leading up to the final has been kind. Pochettino has been impressed by the intensity of his men. They are prepared, he feels,” Balague wrote in his BBC column.

Tottenham have a chance to write history tomorrow, as they have never lifted the Champions League trophy.

Spurs have not won any major trophy since 2008, but could win European football’s biggest prize in Madrid.

Pochettino’s side are boosted by the fact that they have a fully fit squad to pick from.

Jan Vertonghen, Harry Winks and Harry Kane have all recovered from fitness issues, and all three could start for Spurs tomorrow evening.
