Guillem Balague has revealed on Twitter that Liverpool-linked Thiago Alcantara wants a move to the Premier League.
According to Sport BILD, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the former Barcelona midfielder.
Thiago – valued at £45 million – is out of contract at Bayern Munich next summer and, interestingly, he looks to have effectively rejected the chance to sign a new one at the Allianz Arena.
Balague has claimed that the 29-year-old has refused to respond to Bayern’s offers of an extension, with the Spanish journalist also revealing that the player himself is keen on a move to England’s top flight.
Good news for the Reds?
In a word, yep. This is definitely good news for Klopp if Thiago genuinely has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.
With Liverpool still being reigning European champions, and sitting on the brink of winning the title, Klopp’s side is far and away the most attractive proposition for any player who wants a switch to England.
That being said, it must be noted that Thiago has history with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola – who signed him for Bayern – and if the Sky Blues get involved, it could muddy Liverpool’s chances.
