Tottenham Hotspur may have signed Joe Rodon in October, but they continue to be linked with another new centre back.
The London Evening Standard reported earlier this week that Jose Mourinho wants a veteran defender in the mould of Chelsea’s Thiago Silva – and has a pretty extraordinary target in mind.
It was stated that Mourinho wants to sign Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, and is keeping tabs on his contract situation in the Spanish capital.
Ramos is out of contract at the end of the season, so he could end up leaving the Bernabeu on a free transfer, with Mourinho allegedly keen on a reunion.
The pair worked together at Real between 2010 and 2013, whilst Ramos has the winning mentality and trophy record that Mourinho wants.
However, they didn’t exactly leave on great terms in Madrid, as Goal reported a rift between the two in 2012.

Now, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has taken to Twitter to react to the rumours, suggesting a move to Spurs ‘will not happen for sure’ because of the frayed relationship between the two.
Balague seemingly feels the issues are irreparable, and if he is right then don’t expect to see Ramos at Tottenham any time soon.
