The Liverpool ace has been linked with a summer switch to Real Madrid.
Guillem Balague delivered his verdict on the possibility of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah joining Real Madrid in the summer, when taking part in a Q&A session for Sky Sports.
The Egyptian has been quite simply sensational for the Reds since making his £34 million move to Anfield from Roma in the summer of 2017, and has racked up an incredible 39 goals and 13 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions thus far.
Unfortunately for Liverpool, though, his fine performances have not gone unnoticed, with Spanish media publication El Condfidencial reporting that Los Blancos are lining up a £142 million swoop for the 25-year-old in the summer.
The Anfield faithful will be praying that Salah stays on Merseyside, though, and they will be encouraged to hear Balague’s words on the matter.
The respected Spanish pundit insisted that Madrid have actually never shown any interest in the Egypt international, when taking part in a Q&A session for Sky Sports:
“Real Madrid have never shown an interest in Salah, and we have heard Klopp saying he is not leaving too – so there’s your answer!”
The problem for the Reds is that once Madrid set their sights on a player, they usually get him, and despite Balague’s words, it might be hard for the Liverpool hierarchy to resist any overtures made by the Spanish giants, if they make a huge offer in the summer.
