Tottenham Hotspur appear to be on the verge of a shock deadline day signing, with Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente nearing a move to White Hart Lane.
With Serge Aurier completing his move to Tottenham this afternoon, Spurs have now tied up four summer signings, adding the Ivorian right back to fellow new signings Paulo Gazzaniga, Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth.
However, manager Mauricio Pochettino may not be done just yet, with another striker potentially heading to North London to compete with Harry Kane.
Amid late question marks over Vincent Janssen’s future, Tottenham are pursuing a deal for Fernando Llorente, with The Express claiming that he is undergoing a medical with Spurs this afternoon.
Llorente, 32, joined Swansea from Sevilla last summer and enjoyed a superb first season in the Premier League with 15 goals in 33 games, but he now appears set for a move to Tottenham.
The Spaniard will offer something different to the Spurs attack, giving Mauricio Pochettino a target man to possibly bring off the bench or even use in attack with Kane, offering more of a goal threat than Janssen.
Now, Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has taken to Twitter to claim that Llorente’s move to Spurs is done, and he has penned a two-year deal with an option of another year, with Spurs paying £12million for his signature.
Tottenham legend Graham Roberts has also taken to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the deal, claiming Llorente is the perfect cover for Kane, given that he possesses great attitude, a winning mentality and an impressive scoring record over the course of his career.
